Malbec Grape Cluster

MALBEC

Malbec is a thick-skinned grape Bordeaux variety.  The thick skins pack high anthocyanin levels, giving winemakers the pigment and structure to build bold, age-worthy reds, while moderate, velvety tannins keep the wine approachable..Rogue Valley is Oregon's warmest AVA — the only Zone II growing area in the state, with growing degree days that rival Bordeaux and put real heat behind full ripening. Our hillside blocks sit at elevation, where intense, direct sunlight thickens skins and concentrates color and tannin, and cool nights off the Siskiyou Mountains hold onto acidity and aromatic lift through harvest.
